12. Back to school

12. Back to school

It’s that time of year again. Audi Q7’s litter the footpath around school pick-up and drop off time as Tāmaki Makaurau’s leafier suburbs go into gridlock.

But you don’t have to go to school to learn stuff.

When Angela came through and suggested we meet, I already knew what was coming and I was dreading it.

She’d want me to write an ad I’d decided. How could I tell her I wasn’t doing advertising anymore?

You can say no to Angela, but that only really delays the inevitable yes that will follow. If you’re under the pump time wise, it’s best just to say ok and get on with it. A request is always delivered with the lightest of touches, and you’ll never be asked for something you can’t easily do. Even if you don’t realise it at the time.
